About the Burning Sagebrush
When you’re looking for journalism asking the tough, hard-hitting questions on the hard-hitting issues look no further than the Burning Sagebrush. Our role as the leading “other voice” at the University of Nevada, Reno, aims to dig deep into Nevada issues and report news in the most “accurate,” “fair-sided” and “objective” way and indeed, we believe we have succeeded far beyond our expectations.
The Burning Sagebrush has uncovered long-overdue answers to those questions plaguing Nevadans. Do you know when KatRENO will strike? Who are Reno’s St. Patty’s enthusiasts, cowboys and gays? Are rainbows graffiti and if so, do you not like rainbows, or what? Most importantly, why are those people waiting hours on end outside the John Ascuaga’s Nugget? All, and more, have been answered through the Burning Sagebrush. Thank goodness.
Wherever there is laughter, there is the Burning Sagebrush.
Wherever there is pain, there is the Burning Sagebrush.
Wherever there is promiscuity, there is the Burning Sagebrush.
Wherever there is inanity, there is the Burning Sagebrush.
Wherever there is justice (or injustice), there is the Burning Sagebrush.
Lastly, wherever there is B.S, there is the Burning Sagebrush.
The Burning Sagebrush is produced by the spring 2008 Journalism Daily Show class at the Reynolds’s School of Journalism at the University of Nevada, Reno.
