Bob Felten is an assistant professor. He teaches courses in news reporting and writing, public relations and advertising. He is also a consultant on strategic marketing communications. Bob has been a newspaper reporter and editor, a public relations strategist and lobbyist, president of an Internet marketing firm and co-owner of an advertising agency.
He is the winner of multiple local and national advertising awards. He earned Ad Person of the Year recognition from the Reno Ad Club in 1990 and received the Thomas C. Wilson Lifetime Achievement Award from the Advertising Association of Northern Nevada in 2006.
Bob has also been recognized for teaching excellence. He is a longtime lead advisor for UNR’s Integrated Marketing Communications team. In 2003, his team won the National Student Advertising Competition sponsored by the American Advertising Federation. Last fall, he was voted Best College Instructor in the Reno News and Review’s annual Biggest Little Best of Northern Nevada contest.
