Why I teach
I like having a reason to think about why journalism behaves the way it behaves. As a teacher, I'm always being asked to justify why-why are media doing it this way? Why not that way?
What I've Learned
There are not enough hours in the day, days in the week or weeks in the year. There are so many good ideas we can all be joyfully busy all the time. Every task that matters is neither too big nor too small. You can't buy cheap dish soap-or cheap laundry detergent. Gardening is therapeutic. Gardens are forgiving.
