Why I teach

I'm from a family of teachers: My father has been a professor of engineering at a state university for 41 years. My mother is a retired elementary school teacher. My younger brother used to teach computer graphics. Even my grandfather, who was a plumber, taught his trade. Perhaps it's in the blood. Throughout my career I've enjoyed coaching and mentoring aspiring writers. I always thought that I would like to teach, and now, at the age of 45 , I'm thrilled to have this opportunity and challenge.
