Why I teach:

Teaching is the best way to keep learning.

Students are interesting people to know.

What I’ve learned:

  • Teaching is not easy so it's never boring.
  • You can't tell by looking at a student what they're thinking but you sure can tell in their writing.
  • Travel is the best thing you can do.
  • The Internet is changing the world.
  • Universities need to adapt.
  • Global warming is a serious problem.
  • I'm really glad a chocolate bar opened in Reno.
  • I love my kids.
  • I prefer e-mail to talking on the telephone.
  • We need to take more time for conversations with friends and family.
