PRSSA to host regional conference: PReimagined.
The Public Relations Student Society of Nevada has announced the PReimagined Conference at the Grand Sierra Resort this April, after successfully bidding to host the event at a conference in Indianapolis last October.
Alison Gaulden, PRSSA Advisor and All Things Internship at the Reynolds School of Journalism, says PRSSA offers students a chance to practice their public relations skills.
“Whether trying to build a board, seek new members, raise money-each of those activities require strategic communications to understand the audience and apply that understanding in communication tactics and evaluation. In addition, students meet professionals in the field, who in turn may have connections to PR pros in other communities.”
The conference features twelve speakers, from local business owners to entrepreneurs. The focus is on Relationships, Enterprising, News, and Opportunity, or R.E.N.O. As technologies grow and evolve, so does public relations. Gaulden says students will get out of this conference what they put into it.
“I can say that students who make the effort to attend, be involved in the conference activities, who set out objectives to meet and network with the professionals who are making an effort to contribute their time, will benefit more than students who don’t bother to register or who do and then don’t maximize the opportunity that comes.”
The event is April 7-9, at the Grand Sierra Hotel. Tickets for PRSSA Members are $69.30. The price is $99 for non-members. Register at PRSSA Nevada.
