Apply now for an L.A. Times internship – for Reynolds School students only
The Los Angeles Times will offer a 10-week paid internship to a Reynolds School news student in summer 2017. See the details below and email your application by Noon (12 p.m.) on February 28 to Professor Alan Deutschman at firstname.lastname@example.org.
The intern will help cover the business beat, reporting and writing on deadline for the website as well as the print edition of the newspaper. If the intern has an area of special interest, such as technology or small business/entrepreneurship, the editors will strive to provide opportunities to focus on that subject. This is an exceptional opportunity to work at one of America’s leading news organizations. The ideal candidate is a self-starter with a strong interest in a news career.
The intern will receive a generous stipend of $700 a week for the 10-week period (which will be funded through a partnership with the LA Times and with funds from our Donald W. Reynolds Chair in Business Journalism Endowment.).
If you’re interested, please write a cover letter and attach up to 12 samples of your work. The samples should demonstrate the range as well as the quality of what you can produce. Professor Alan Deutschman will lead a committee to select the top three candidates and present their applications to the L.A. Times editors, who will make the final selection.
If you have any questions about this opportunity, please contact Professor Deutschman.
