On a daily basis, media discourses contribute to the meaning-making practices that lie at the center of society. As such, approaching them from a critical perspective allows us to understand a dimension of the media which calls for urgent action and engaged practices from professionals across the spectrum. Departing from a conceptual interrogation, we will explore the complexity of Latina/o representations in popular media, as well as charting the long road that lies ahead.
The lecture is free and open to the public. All are welcome to attend.
